LibraryTech (Demo): SLMS (Official Demo)

Purpose

This case study was developed for research, academic, demonstration, and evaluation purposes. It illustrates how ITLingoCloud can support requirements engineering and system specification activities, particularly through its ITLingo-ITOI and ITLingo-Chatbot components.

Case Study Overview

The Smart Library Management System (SLMS) supports the main operations of an academic library, including catalogue management, member registration, loans, returns, fines, reporting, user management, access control, and security.

The case study includes requirements, business rules, domain concepts, lifecycles, and quality requirements. Examples include a standard 14-day loan period, borrowing limits according to membership type, overdue fines of €0.50 per day and per book, support for up to 100 concurrent users, and 99% availability during library operating hours.

How to Explore This Workspace

We recommend exploring the workspace in the following sequence:

1. Explore the workspace and review its main documents and resources.
2. Inspect the RSL specifications to understand the requirements, stakeholders, business rules, and system behaviour.
3. Explore the ASL specifications and related system architecture or design elements, when available.
4. Use ITLingo-ITOI to inspect the specification examples providing in a Online IDE environment.
5. Use ITLingo-Chatbot to see folders and chats previously produced, and explore AI-assisted Requirements Engineering.

Explore ITLingoCloud and Share Your Feedback (Optional)

We are conducting a usability assessment of ITLingoCloud and invite participants to learn and explore the platform and share feedback about their experience.

The assessment takes approximately 45–60 minutes and consists of guided, task-based activities followed by a short questionnaire. No previous experience with ITLingoCloud or its supported languages is required. It can be completed independently and at your own pace.
